Back in 1970, C.F. Martin and Co (who have been creating the finest acoustic guitars for 183 years), created Sigma Guitars as a means of introducing inexpensive recreations of legendary Martin designs to a market flooded by imported copies. Martin eventually discontinued Sigma in 2007, only to be resurrected by AMI Musical Instruments in 2011.
Since then, Sigma have been collecting consistently outstanding reviews from the likes of Guitarist Magazine, Music Radar, Acoustic Magazine and Guitar & Bass Magazine as well as countless retailers. They are quickly becoming regarded as building the best value acoustic guitars in the world today. Although the influence and heritage of C.F. Martin and Co can clearly be seen running throughout Sigma’s product line, the brand are still innovating and established their own aesthetic.
In both design and affordability, Sigma’s range accommodates absolute beginners through to touring musicians. Their top of the range models are unquestionably outstanding however, what constantly impresses us here at RAD is the playability and build quality of even entry-level product lines.
The staggering array of body shapes, finishes, tonewoods and electro-acoustic options throughout Sigma’s range mean there really is a guitar for everyone- regardless of style, experience or application. Quite aside from recommending Sigma guitars, our tutors actually gig them. We’re confident you’ll be as blown away by them as we are.
