Ibanez RG721FM-BIF Premium Electric Guitar - (Black Ice Flat)
The Ibanez RG has been at the heart of Ibanez’s product line since 1987 and many of the company’s signature artist designs are based on the RG spec.
The RG721FM electric guitar was the first Premium range Ibanez we bought into RAD and is a shop favourite.
It has an ultra slim basswood body with flamed maple top and Ibanez’s legendary Wizard 5 piece maple and walnut neck. The RG721FM plays unbelievably well and, in our opinion, is the epitome of a slim, sleek, modern rock and metal machine.
Unlike many other “super-strat” style guitars, the RG721FM actually features a fixed bridge design- the Tight-End R bridge offers excellent tuning stability and even enhances the sound of the instrument with it’s resonant quality.
The pickups are a pair of CAP-VM humbuckers which are aggressive but tight, perfect for modern rock and metal styles.
The Black Ice Flat finish and body binding is set off by the Cosmo black hardware making this guitar truly mean-looking yet still minimalist and refined.
The RG was the starting point for many of Ibanez’s signature models including Steve Vai, Andy Timmons, KoRn and Tosin Abasi.
As we so often experience with the Ibanez, we found this guitar to be remarkable value for money. The quality of workmanship and fluid playability of the RG721FM rivals that of custom instruments double it’s price.
